I hate the fact that everybody and his dog wants to collect and sell my data, who I am , where I live, what sex ( undetermined ) an e mail address and a phone number.. are are all required when you make a donation online.. I personally would like to set up a monthly trickle to help my fellow s that are in need.. lord knows at any stage I may well join their cohort.
I refuse to give up this sort of info, because I know what happens, Having done this before with places like Oxfam etc, they will spend more than you donated sending you glossy magazines and begging letters asking for more and in the process wasting the money you gave.Just try and make an anonymous donation.. you cant.. yeah they say it is required so they can send you a receipt, but frankly that is bullshit.
At present The Salvos are advertising on TV for donations of $5 as an ongoing commitment.. go to their website and the touted $5 has disappeared and the lowest they list starts at $20.. Lets at least be honest if you are going to suggest a donation of $5 show it as an option..
Even the good guys these days are part of the problem when it comes to keeping your info out of the dark web.. data is only a hack away from being sold online.
